Hi, and welcome to Links and Layers! 

I’m a full-time hospice nurse with 30 years of experience caring for others, but I’ve always had a creative side that fuels my passion. For 13 years, I owned a boutique where I sold clothes, monogrammed items, and gifts. While running the boutique, I also designed jewelry on and off, discovering how much I loved creating unique pieces for my customers.  

In 2023, I sold my boutique, thinking it was time to focus on other parts of my life. But something felt missing—I realized how much I missed the creative process, planning content for social media, and running a business. That’s when Southern Kindred Jewelry came to life.

This year, I was proud to secure a utility patent for a jewelry innovation that makes layering necklaces interchangeable with less twisting—solving a common frustration for jewelry lovers! While this design is a core part of my work, I also enjoy creating a variety of other pieces that blend timeless beauty with functionality.

My goal is to offer high-quality jewelry using materials like 14k gold-filled and sterling silver, ensuring longevity and elegance. For those looking for more affordable options, I also create budget-friendly designs made with alternate materials, so there’s truly something for everyone.

As a mom to grown children and a grandmother to four (with one on the way!), family is incredibly important to me. While my kids are all grown, I still prioritize making time for them and cherishing the moments we share. Now that my days of hands-on mothering are behind me, I’m able to focus on balancing my nursing career with my love for jewelry-making and running my small business.
